How Does Being in an Organized Group Affect Behavior?
Being in an organized group can affect behavior either in a positive or negative way. It can have a positive impact in the sense that if the people within the organized group possess the right values, behaviors and attitudes, they can help the other members to be like them and contribute to the attainment of the goals of the group. Thus, in this case it becomes easier for members of the organized group to practice coordination and teamwork, leading to their improved productivity and efficiency. The members of the organized are able to inspire one another to work hard and give their best efforts so that success can be achieved over the long term. Even if there are challenges and obstacles that are being faced by the organized group, it is going to overcome all of these problems because the members have the right values, behaviors and attitudes.
On the other hand, being in an organized group can also have a negative effect on behavior if the people do not possess the right values, behaviors and attitudes to motivate the rest of the members to work hard and perform well. If majority of the people in the organized group are lazy, dishonest and lack motivation to succeed, chances are the rest of the members will also learn these behaviors and contribute to the downfall of the group. Constant conflicts and disagreements will also most likely happen in organized groups whose members do not have the right values, behaviors and attitudes. Because of this, it is hard to imagine sustained success for these organized groups. This is why it is important for the established members of the organized group to always serve as role models in terms of the right values, behaviors and attitudes that have to be possessed by the new members.
